1. This radiometer has been factory configured to run automatically under VizMet-B. To start the radiometer, set up all hardware and cables per the manual (soft copy on the desk top, "MP-XX00A Users Manual_RevB").  

2. Next, open the Windows Explorer shortcut "VizMet-B  3043A" on the desktop. Navigate to the login button (upper right). Log in with the user name "owner" and password "owner". Once logged in, select the Status/Control TAB. Select Procedure:

    sb3_zen_ret_tip.prc

...and click on the "START" button. This procedure will collect data and produce zenith profiles. It also will collect TIP cal data. Other procedures can also be selected. Consult the manual for details.

3. After a few minutes, the Status should indicate a new file has been started, and the radiometer is running. It may take 1-2 minutes for the radiometer to display data in the status window after a new procedure is started.

4. After several minutes of operation, select the Monitor Tab, and the Monitor display should begin showing graphs of the observations and retrievals.

5. DO NOT RELOAD ANY SOFTWARE FROM THE BACKUP CD UNLESS DIRECTED TO DO SO BY THE Radiometrics STAFF.

6. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SUBSTITUTE A DIFFERENT COMPUTER FOR THE CONTROL COMPUTER. Changing the control computer without factory authorization will invalidate the warranty!
